Ingredients
2 boxes
(225 g each) of Kraft Dinner Macaroni and Cheese
1 lb
extra-lean ground beef or turkey
3 cups
chopped vegetables, such as onions, carrots and bell peppers
1/2 tsp
Italian herb seasoning
2 tsp
minced garlic
1 jar
(650 mL) Classico Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce
1-1/2 cups
Italian-style shredded cheese blend
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat broiler. Cook ground beef, vegetables, herb seasoning and garlic in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, breaking up with spoon, until vegetables are softened and beef is browned, about 8 minutes. Add sauce; bring to simmer. Cook, stirring for 8 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile, prepare Kraft Dinner according to package directions. Transfer to ovenproof 2 L casserole dish; spoon meat sauce over top. Sprinkle with cheese.
Step 3
Broil until cheese is melted and bubbling, about 2 minutes.
Tip: Use 3 cups of whatever veggies you have on hand (and that your kids love) in place of our suggested mix, such as mushrooms, zucchini or a different colour pepper.
