Savoury mince on toast


Ingredients

    Onion, diced

  • 1

    clove

    Garlic, crushed

  • 500

    g

    Lean beef mince

  • 1

    tbsp

    Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/4

    cup

    Wattie's tomato sauce

  • 1

    tbsp

    Cornflour

  • 2

    cups

    Wattie's frozen mixed vegetables


Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Heat a dash of oil in a saucepan and cook onion and garlic for 2 minutes or until soft but not coloured.

  2. Step 2

    Add mince and continue cooking for a further 5 minutes, until mince has changed colour but not browned.

  3. Step 3

    Add 1 ½ cups boiling water, Worcestershire sauce and Watties's Tomato Sauce and simmer for 20 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    In a cup, mix cornflour with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir until it becomes a smooth paste.

  5. Step 5

    Add the cornflour paste and the Watties's Frozen Mixed Vegetables to the mince and continue cooking for another 5-10 minutes.

  6. Step 6

    Serve on hot toast with extra Watties's Tomato Sauce.
