A creamy treat of macaroni and cheese, baked to gooey perfection with a hint of Tex-Mex flavour - this baked pasta casserole is what we call a weeknight winner!


Ingredients

  • 2

    cups

    elbow macaroni, uncooked

  • 2

    tbsp

    butter

  • 2

    cloves

    garlic, finely chopped

  • 3

    tbsp

    flour

  • 2

    cups

    milk

  • 1/4

    cup

    Kraft 100% Romano Shredded Cheese

  • 1/2

    tsp

    cayenne pepper

  • 2

    cups

    Cracker Barrel Shredded Tex Mex Cheese


Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Heat oven to 400ºF.

  2. Step 2

    Cook macaroni according to package directions, omitting salt.

  3. Step 3

    Meanwhile heat butter in medium saucepan on medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook 1 min. Stir in flour and gradually add milk, cook on medium heat 3 to 5 min. or until thickened. Add Romano cheese and cayenne; stir until blended. Stir in pasta and mix well.

  4. Step 4

    Spoon into 13x9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 25 min., or until pasta is bubbly and golden.
