In addition to supplying both flavour and moistness to the Smokehouse Shuffle Burger, the blue cheese also makes the perfect topping for the cooked burgers.


Ingredients

    Heinz Tomato Ketchup

  • 1

    tbsp

    brown sugar

  • 2

    tbsp

    Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 2

    tsp

    hot pepper sauce

  • 1

    lb

    (450 g) extra-lean ground beef

  • 1

    yellow onion, finely chopped

  • 2

    tsp

    Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1

    egg, beaten

  • 4

    hamburger buns

  • 4

    lettuce leaves

  • 1

    small

    red onion, sliced

  • 1/3

    cup

    crumbled blue cheese


Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Heat barbecue to medium heat.

  2. Step 2

    Combine ketchup, sugar, vinegar and hot sauce.

  3. Step 3

    Mix meat, yellow onions, Worcestershire sauce and egg just until blended. Shape into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.

  4. Step 4

    Grill 5 to 6 min. on each side or until done (160ºF), brushing frequently with ketchup mixture for the last 2 min. and adding buns, cut sides down, to the barbecue to toast for the last few minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Fill buns with lettuce, burgers, red onions and cheese.
